Get creative for Bugs In My Backyard Week this November!
Primary and secondary students across Australia are invited to create and submit original artwork featuring either Australia’s native bugs, or invasive ones!
Parents and guardians, teachers and school staff can submit student entries for a chance to win an Eggpicnic invertebrate print of their choice, valued up to $385.
To enter, students must create an original two-dimensional bug-themed artwork (drawing, painting, or collage) and include a short 1–2 sentence caption explaining what bug species they chose and why. Photographs of the artwork can then be submitted to the competition.
Entries open 2 November 2026 and close 23 November 2026. Check out the full rules below and get your students involved!
